Established in December 2021. It is one of three main research groups of School of Electrical Engineering, International University, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Team
We are willing to cooperate with all of the researchers in Vietnam and around the world that are interested in our research fields (but not limited).

Staffs

Dr. Tạ Quang Hiển
Group Leader
Dr. Hien received his Bachelor Degree in 2010 from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, and his Ph.D. degree in 2020 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University. Currently, he has been on the faculty of Electrical Engineering, International University (IU) – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He received the Graduate Fellowship from Iowa State University from 2014 to 2020 and Visiting Graduate Fellowship from Aalborg University – Denmark in 2018. He also received the Teaching Excellence Award from Iowa State University, 2017 and the Travel-Grant Scholarship from International and Communication Conference (ICC) in Shanghai – China, 2019. From 2017, he has been a member of IEEE Communication Society (IEEE Comsoc) and served as an active reviewer of high-quality peer reviewed journals, such as IEEE Communication Letters, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Internet of Things Journal. His main interests are in the areas of signal processing, communication, information theory, Internet of Things and their applications.

Dr. Nguyễn Lập Luật

Dr. Luat received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from International University of Vietnam National University (VNU), Ho Chi Minh city, in 2015. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2020 from University of Brest (UBO), France. He then held a Teaching and Research position at this university. He is currently a Lecturer at International University, VNU. His research interests are: Signal Processing, Wireless Communications and Internet of Things.

Roland GAUTIER
Prof - Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO), France
ROLAND GAUTIER received the M.Sc degree from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis,
France, in 1995, where his research activities were concerned with the blind source separation of convolutive mixtures for MIMO systems in digital communications. He received the Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France, in 2000, where his research interests were in experiment design for nonlinear parameters models. From 2000 to 2001, he was Assistant Professor with Polytech-Nantes, the engineering school of the University of Nantes, France. Since September 2001, he has worked with the University of Brest, France, as an Associate Professor in electronic engineering and Signal Processing. His general interests lie in the area of signal processing and digital communications. His current research focuses on digital communication intelligence (COMINT), analysis, and blind parameters recognition, Multiple-Access and Spread Spectrum transmissions, Cognitive and Software Radio, Cybersecurity, Physical Layer Security for communications, Drones communications detection and Jamming. From 2007 to June 2012, he was assistant manager of the Signal Processing Team, within the Laboratory for Science and Technologies of Information, Communication and Knowledge (Lab-STICC - UMR CNRS 6285). From July 2012 to august 2020, he was the manager of the Defense Research Axis, within the COM Team of the Lab-STICC. He received his Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) from the University of Brest in 2013 presenting an overview of his post-doctoral scientific research activities on the development of "self-configuring multi-standard adaptive receivers : Blind analysis of digital transmissions for military communications and Cognitive Radio". Since 2018, he is the holder of the "CyberIoT" Chair of Excellence. Since September 2020, he is the manager of the Security, Intelligence and Integrity of Information (SI3) Team of the Lab-STICC.

Sang W. Kim

Sang Wu Kim received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1981, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea, in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 1987. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University. Previously, he was a Faculty Member of KAIST, a Visiting Associate Professor with the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, and a Technical Consultant with the Wireless Systems Research Department, AT&T Labs, Middletown, NJ, USA. His current research interests include wireless communications and security. He was a recipient of the Best Paper Award from the IEEE International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, Piscataway, NJ, in September 2000, and the IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Sensor Systems (MASS), Washington, DC, USA, in November 2005. He also received the Best Poster Award from the IEEE Conference on Sensor, Mesh, and Ad Hoc Communications and Networks (SECON), San Diego, CA, in June 2007. He served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Letters from 2000 to 2006, the Co-Chair for the Technical Program Committee of IEEE GLOBECOM Communication Theory Symposium 2013, and the Publications Chair for IEEE WCNC 2017. He is currently serving as an Editor for IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials and an Associate Editor of IEEE Access.

Petar Popovski
Prof - Dept. of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University, Denmark
Petar Popovski is a Professor in Wireless Communications at Aalborg University, the Department of Electronic Systems. He is heading the Section on Connectivity, which covers the broad area of wireless communications and networks. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Villum Investigator (2021- ), previous holder of a Consolidator Grant (2015-2020) from the European Research Council (ERC) and a recipient of the Danish Elite Researcher Award (2016).
His general research interest is in the area of connectivity and communication theory. Examples of more specific research activities include wireless system design (6G and beyond-5G), ultra-reliable wireless communication, Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, integration of communication with data analytics and communication aspects of blockchain and distributed ledgers

Anthony FICHE
Assoc. Prof - Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO), France
ANTHONY FICHE received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Brest, France, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Between 2012 and 2014, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Radar and Electro-Magnetic Sensing, ENSTA Bretagne (Lab-STICC UMR CNRS 6285), Brest, where he worked on clutter modeling. Between October 2014 and August 2015, he has been a Teaching and Research Temporary Assistant at the University Institute of Technology, Quimper, France. Since September 2015, he has worked with the University of Brest, France, as an Associate Professor in the team T2I3/SI3 of the Lab-STICC. His current research focuses on Compressed Sampling and FullDuplex Communications.

Hoon Oh
Prof of University of Ulsan, Korea
Hoon Oh received the B.S.E.E. degree from the Sung Kyun Kwan University, Seoul, and the M.SC. degree and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Texas A&M University at College Station, Texas, in 1993 and 1995, respectively. From 1983 to 1989 and 1996 to 2000, he worked as a software engineer and software architect in the Corporate Research Center of Samsung Electronics. He was involved in developing communication protocols for the data services of the CDMA and IMT2000 handset products. He had served as the department head of the School of IT Convergence from 2016 to 2017. He has also been leading the Digital Manufacturing IT Research Center in University of Ulsan, Korea as a director from 2013. He received a Best Paper Award from the National Academy of Science, USA in 1995 and a Best Paper Award from the 13th International Conference on Future Networks and Communications, Elsevier in 2018. He published over sixty refereed journals and issued over thirty patents for the last decade, and made many technology transfers to the IT companies through Foundation for Industry Cooperation, University of Ulsan. His research interests lie in embedded systems, mobile ad hoc and sensor networks, real-time computing, context-aware computing. He is a member of IEEE, IEICE, and ICASE, and a lifetime member of KICS and KISA.

Trang Tien Nguyen
Assistant. Prof - University of Ulsan, Korea
Trang Tien Nguyen received the B.S. degree In Control and Automation Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2013, and PhD. Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Ulsan, Korea in 2020. From March 2020 to February 2021, he was with University of Ulsan as a postdoctoral fellow. He has been a Research Professor from March 1, 2021 in the same university. His research interests lie in embedded systems, industrial wireless sensor networks, and digital communications.

Mélanie MARAZIN

MÉLANIE MARAZIN received the M.Sc. degree in sciences and technologies of telecommunications in 2006 from University of Brest, France. Her research activities were concerned with the study of performances of a space-time coding on MIMO channel. She received the Ph.D degree in digital communications from the University of Brest, France, in 2009. Her research interests focus on communications intelligence and blind recognition of convolutional codes. Since 2009, she has Assistant Professor with University of Brest. Her general interests lie in the area of signal processing and digital communications. Her current research focuses on digital communication interception, analysis, and blind parameters recognition as well as the physical layer security for communications. Since 2018, she participates in the "CyberIoT" Chair of Excellence.

Vương Quốc Bảo
PhD Candidate - Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO), France
BAO QUOC VUONG was born in 09 December 1992 in Binh Duong province, Vietnam. He received the B. Eng degree and M. Eng degree in Electrical Engineering from School of Electrical Engineering, International University, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (IU – VNUHCMC), in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree with the Information Science and Technology, Communication and Knowledge Laboratory (Lab- STICC), Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Western Brittany, Brest, France. His main interests are in the areas of signal processing, wireless communication, information theory, Full-duplex transmission, Channel coding and Cybersecurity for 5G network, Internet of Things and beyond.
